War changes us.
One of the many wars across human history was the more recent Cold War, between the Soviet Union and the United States of America. It raged on for quite a long time - Some might argue from 1947 until 1991.
How do we Americans react to war?
Do we stay indoors and quiver in fear of our own premonitions?
Do we raise up, in arms, to defend what we would call our homes and go down fighting if we must?
Do we sit in circles, with signs that read "Make love, not war"?
No one could answer these questions.
But what never changes is the aftermath of the war.
Regret.
